Growing kids…in wisdom, stature,
and in favor with God and man.
Children are a blessing from the Lord. At Fairway, we believe that biblically it is primarily the responsibility of the parent to disciple their children but that it is our responsibility as the church to come alongside and partner with parents in that discipleship process. One way that we do this as a church is through our various children’s programs. Click any link below to find out more information about a particular program or just scroll down the page to browse them all.
If you're interested in volunteering to help with our kids' programs, please email Lindsey Shaffer or call the church office at 940.692.0735 for more information.
Fairway Baptist Church values all children, and seeks to assist parents in growing up children in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). Toward that mission, we have provided a nursery with the following aims:
- To provide a safe, Christian environment for infants and preschoolers.
- To meet the emotional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual needs of each child.
- To enlist cooperation on the part of the entire church to better meet the needs of our children.
- To encourage active participation of parents in worship, Bible study, and fellowship.

The nursery will be available 15 minutes before the start of a scheduled service, program or event and close 15 minutes after the conclusion of that same scheduled service, program or event.
Our nursery building houses our children ages birth-3 years old. Once you arrive in the building, one of our nursery staff will greet you and help you through the check-in process.
We believe that children are never too young to begin learning about the God who created them. And so, in addition to free play, children will participate in age appropriate curriculum and music specifically designed to begin teaching them core biblical truths.
Sunday Mornings - 9:30 AM
At Fairway, we believe that it is important for children to start learning core foundational truths about Jesus Christ even at a young age. For that reason, from our Toddlers class on up through our senior high students in the youth ministry, our children are working through the same curriculum – just on their age level.
Currently we are using the Treasuring Christ Curriculum, which is a comprehensive curriculum for preschool through high school that strengthens children and families by teaching them the gospel from Genesis to Revelation.
Each week, every age group is learning the same lesson, so that at home families can discuss what has been taught that particular week. A weekly at-home guide is provided that suggests conversations, activities and bible studies to do with your children throughout the week.
Students are broken up into small age-grouped classes and during the hour will have bible teaching, crafts, games, and great time with friends. Our Toddler and 2’s and 3’s classes meet in the nursery building while our PreK-6th graders meet in the 252 Kids hallway and there is always a friendly face waiting to show you where to go!
252KIDS CHURCH / Jr. KIDS CHURCH
Sunday Mornings - 10:45 AM
Kids Church and Jr. Kids Church are age-appropriate worship services for 1st through 4th graders and 4 years through Kindergarten respectively. Kids are dismissed during the Welcome/Greeting time of the worship service each Sunday to head to the 252Kids Theatre for an exciting experience that includes praise and worship, a Bible lesson and challenge, mini-message maps to fill out, and a chance to give an offering.
Currently, we are studying the Bible from beginning to end within a two year time frame. Kids will learn that the Bible is not just filled with tons of stories but that it is One Big Story that displays God’s plan for us. In each session we will hit specific highlights that are intended to educate and challenge kids to a deeper level of thinking.
Jr. Kids Church meets each week, and 252Kids Church meets every week except for the first Sunday of the month and on holidays in which kids are encouraged to worship in the sanctuary with their families.
Sunday Nights - 5:45 PM
On Sunday nights from 5:45-7:45pm our 3 year olds through Kindergartners participate in a program called Mission Friends. They meet in the “Classroom” in the 252 Kids Hallway and can be dropped off and picked up in that room. Dinner is served at 6pm.
The goal of Mission Friends is to start building an awareness of missions and of God’s love for all people, even at a young age. Children will learn about missions through hands-on activities, Bible stories, cultural learning activities, mission stories, prayer, giving, and helping others.
Come join us on Sunday nights!
Sunday Nights - 5:45 PM
Mission Kids is our Sunday night program for our 1st-6th graders. They meet in the FLC Gym from 5:45-7:45pm and can be dropped off and picked up in that location.
Through Mission Kids it is our hope to continue on the foundational principles of missions the kids began learning even in Mission Friends. And if your child is just starting out in Mission Kids that is no problem at all! Kids will learn all about missions in other countries, missionaries who are serving, and ways they can serve even where they are all while studying the bible, doing activities, and playing games.
Don’t forget, dinner is served for the kids at 6pm – so come join us!
Wednesday Nights - 6:00 PM
Based on 2 Timothy 2:15, the purpose of the AWANA ministry is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. At AWANA, clubbers will study the bible, memorize verses, earn awards, play games and participate in theme night activities with their friends.
With Puggles, Cubbies, Sparks and T&T, AWANA is available for children ages 2-6th grade. Also available are Trek and Journey books that can be done in an independent study manner with leaders available to help and mentor along the way.
AWANA meets most Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:00-7:45pm in the FLC Gym. The registration fee is $15 per semester and covers the cost of books, awards, and all theme activities. To register your child, just come by the FLC at 6pm on a Wednesday night and someone will be available to help guide you in the right direction.
